Ztechnik VStream Screens
« on: October 06, 2018, 02:18:39 PM »
Has anyone tried any of these? They're a bit expensive but look pretty stylish, and well made. Some reduction in wind noise would be nice but mainly I want to get rid of the helmet vibration (oo-er) once the speed gets to 80 plus.... It's not terrible but it's distacting. Using the standard screen in the upper position doesn't help, so I'd be looking at the sport VStream ideally.
I know every bike/screen/rider/helmet combo is different but any info would be useful.

As you stated, one man's recommendation could be anothers worst nightmare. Having said that, I have the V-stream sport and it is a vast improvement over the stock screen in both low and high positions(I am 5'11" have low seat, but planning on high seat). Is it perfect, no, but I have some ideas I am going to try out in winter(I like some wind flow in the heat, so the V-Stream is for winter duties).

I will say this, the screen is very well made/sturdy and fits perfectly.

I have a Shoei GT Air which was OK with my K1300S, which had the standard screen. I tried my gf's X-Lite X-661 but that was worse. I'm the same height as Simon so the VStream may be worth a go.
As for other helmets I'm tempted to try a Schuberth S2 Sport as it's a different shape to the Shoei but it's another big spend.... Maybe some deals at the NEC next month?

Ideally you want to know the length of the torso.  Height isn't a good guide for screen recommendations.

Me either.
How's the S2 for stability etc? I guess the shell is much the same as the sport.

I saw a VStream in Medium on eBay and bought it before I picked my XR up. Works really well for me (6'1", 32" leg). Very quiet with my Schuberth C3 and not too bad with my Shark Evo One 2. Can cruise at 100mph OK, no instability that I have noticed and keeps the worst of the weather off me. Never used it in the high position. Only down side is it looks a bit more like a GS  :164:

Can't compare it with an MRA as I have not tried one, but that was my plan if this didn't work, but I put it on and can't really fault it.

OK thanks.
Having spoken to another XR owner at West Bay yesterday, who has an MRA on his bike and loves it, I'm going to give that a go (the version without the top spoiler thingy)....
