S1000XR SE Black 2019 model
« on: October 16, 2018, 02:33:58 PM »
I traded in my 2016 White S1000XR SE for a bright new 2019 Black model.

Very cool.

will post pictures.

Apparently the dealer had lots of enquiries about it - but I was the one who managed to bag it.

Do you know what the differences are from the 2018 XR - other than the black colour?  :305:

Some:
Black handlebars!
Raised the price

Rest is cosmetic.
I don't think anything else.

Thats what I thought - not much of a new bike then really - hardly changed from original launch  :305:

Increased power from the engine and then removed by the Euro IV exhaust and noise emission controls
Removed the vibes with a new piece of rubber
Added emergency braking flashing led - which the rider cannot of course see...the holy grail if you do see it flashing when braking hard
Increased the pre-discounted price by £1500 from the original launch price

Yes not a lot has changed - but expect a new bike in the next 2 years -
TFT screen
Keyless
improved engine performance
Possibly new frame changes
Higher price

By 2020, the DR650 will have those things:
Keyless
TFT
Improved engine and frame
LOWER PRICE.

I bet he tells all his customers they are just as lucky  :002:

Looks nice though. Lots of things look better in black. Although if it were my money, I wouldn't want those decals on the side of the tank.
I wonder if the boxes will be available to suit rather than the somewhat liimiting red or grey?

You get black handlebars as well with a decal in the middle of the handle bars as well.....

All for the extra sum of £230 on top of the hiked price in the first place.

Worth every penny extra......I don't think so. but now the Motorsport colour has been dropped for 2019 as well - or so they said....but still shown on the web site.

I would quite like the black handlebars on mine.

Edinburgh Motorrad have two black editions in the showroom.

Prefer my motorsport edition though!
