600 Mile Service - No Crush Washer on Drain Plug?
on: November 11, 2018, 03:15:23 PM
I did the first service on my '18 XR and found no crush washer - is this normal? Do you know if I should install a copper washer if not?

Thanks!

Thanks, I picked up a copper washer from the auto parts store and installed it.

Fitted a thin section O-ring to mine along with a new washer....the O-ring OD is the same size as the ID of the washer... No chance of it leaking now.. :028:

I don't think they're copper anymore, all the sealing washers I've bought for various BMWs over last 8 years or have been an aluminum looking material. Just saying in case you missed it stuck on the plug.

Also my thoughts, I have had them stuck on the sump. And it looks like there is not one there.
