Nav V, very quiet volume over BT with schuberth C3 SRC
« on: November 18, 2018, 08:11:55 PM »
I've always had this issue, with both my Zumo 500 and now the nav V.
Volume up as high as possible on the SRC, and I thought on the Nav V high as well. But with ear plugs in, it's impossible to hear directions or warnings. Any tips?

I have a Sena 20S and the only way I can make it all work with earplugs in was to use moulded earplugs with headphones in.

I use snugs https://snugs.com

Not cheap but work really well and great customer service.

Probably not the solution you are looking for but it does work so well and I can listen to music with a decent quality too.

Thanks for reply. In ear is not an option for me, I've tried various professionally made bespoke ear plugs and they just cause me pain.

The thing is it's not the volume from the SRC system as the inbuilt radio and Bluetooth from my phone is plenty loud enough. It's just the NavV to src that's quite. Volume on the Nav is 100%.
I Googled and I'm not alone it seems.
Someone must have this working somehow.

Had this problem on an old Garmin 550 and the SRC ... there was a hack to x2 the volume

This is what they did
First, back-up the file you want to experiment with...then you need a hex editor.

Open the VPM voice file with the hex editor, look for a string

< voice_volume>65< /voice_volume>

Note: in reality, the string will not have a space after the "<" - had to do that to make it show up for illustrative purposes

Change that number to something higher, and save the file to your GPSr...you should have a louder voice for the particular file you've changed.

Might help or not !
