Tech Spec Snakeskin
« on: November 21, 2018, 05:02:46 AM »
Hi Folks,

I found the rubber/plastic at the bottom of the tank whilst handy to prevent paint scratches marked up like a bastard even after less than 2 months of ownership. I looked at most of the options i am sure most of you have checked out yourselves but ended up going with the Tech Spec Snakeskin Kit as to my eyes it looks almost OEM. it was expensive for what it is but I must admit it is really good quality and has a reusable adhesive which means you have a redo if you don’t put it on straight the first time....trust me its handy..😂

Anyway heres a pic

I went the Ilmberger carbon item...also expensive but doesn't mark up and has the "cool" factor.. :028:

I was tempted by the carbon option but I have been down that slippery slope before!

Carbon is as addictive as crack, only more expensive...

Hi Newy

Does the snakeskin go right over the existing pad?

Thanks

Hi Grizzle,

Yes straight over the existing pad. It comes in three pieces and sticks rock solid. Its a bit thicker than I expected but it looks like it will last years. As an added bonus it gives good thigh grip on the tank during ‘spirited cornering’...😁

You also get a tank pad keyring....surely worth the price of admission alone!
