Badges! Save me wasting some money please!
« on: November 24, 2018, 09:39:50 AM »
Is it possible to change the blue on the BMW badges to a custom colour like my profile picture, without stuffing them completely?
And are they easy to remove and replace?

My plan is to order two new badges, custom them then put them on until I come to sell then put the old ones back on without damaging the bike🙄

Cheers all

The badges are easy enough to remove, they are attached with double sided tape. Apply a little heat, and slowly 'prise' them off. If you do it carefully you should be able to get them off with the double-stick intact, put some kind of tape backing on, and you will be able to use them as is when you put them back on.

Be prepared for a rodgering when you price the OEM badges from BMW.

Or do what I did with the small badge on the back, use some fishing line to cut through the middle of the double sided foam to remove the badge, clean off the residue from both and reapply using some automotive double sided available available from most auto-factors.

I recall someone, on this or on R forum, that found a simple and cheap solution.
A sticker cut to the right size to cover the badge.
Available in all colors and also carbon version.
Not sure but thought it was 3M.

Don't have a link, sorry. :430:
