Front wheel removal
« on: February 03, 2019, 03:01:31 PM »
Having read the owners manual I’m convinced that it is incorrect (no mention of slackening the right side nip bolts)
Can someone please post a full description of the method pref with torque settings
Thanx

Owners manual page 135 - middle section shows release right side screws and then left side .....pages 137 & 138 say that it is   19nm or 14lb/ft   to re-tighten - axle is 37lb/ft or 50nm  hope that helps :002:

Page 128 is front wheel removal in my book but got the torque settings cheers
My real question is , do you have to remove the 12mm Allen key center bolt on the left (clutch side) or do you unscrew the axle using the 22mm on the right

Mine says release pinch bolts then push the axle in slightly on left of bike to remove from right hand side - copied and pasted from manual  :002:

Loosen axle clamping
screws 2.
Slightly press the quick-release
axle inward for a better grip on
the right side.

Pull quick-release axle 1 out
while supporting the front
wheel.

Couldn't copy and paste the pictures but it shows the axle coming out from the right hand side  :002:

You need to remove the calipers and hang them to one side, use an old wire coat hanger or similar, don't let them hang on the brake lines....the 12mm hex bolt needs to come out or the axle won't come out. Just undo the two pinch bolts, hold the 22mm hex and remove the 12mm hex bolt, slide the axle out, job done.
