I'm having the same issues reported here and I went ahead and added the heat shielding, the same as shown in the pictures below.  But I still have the same issue: unable to restart my 2018 S1000XR after letting it sit for a few minutes (after at least a 20 minute ride).

The symptoms are somewhat similar: the dash/lights come up normally, but when I turn the key: the starter turns over (a little) then stops.  I hit the kill switch and turn the ignition off and try again.  It takes about 5 tries and then it finally starts.

I tested the battery and it reads normally for voltage - 13V immediately after turning the ignition off.  I did see that the voltage dropped to 9V momentarily when I start the motorcycle, but it does start up (this is after the bike cools down).

Below are the codes from my GS911 Autoscan.  Does anyone have any ideas what I should try next?  I'm about to purchase a battery but thought I'd run it by you all before I went down that route.

In case anyone was wondering, the new battery fixed the restart problem.
Even though it wasn't a heated fuel line issue, I am at least protected from that particular problem in the future..

Did you replace the plastic 90 degree fuel line fitting with a metal one whilst you had the tank off..?? If not, you'll possibly be doing it soon.....common for them to split/crack.

Is there a UK supplier for the upgraded fuel connector?

As Smithy hasn’t come back to you...i’ll Digress a touch...I have 6 65L box’s that I keep all the odds and ends in for each bike, while doing a stock take...I see at some time I bought from Euro MotoElectrics a Fuel Hose Quick Disconnect kit for 5/16” hoses,i’ve Still to get off my arse and fit it but that is what you want, how the hell I bought mine i’ve No idea, and when you click on contact it’s just the mail so god knows where they are, otherwise I guess it’s Motorworks or Sherlock’s.
