New or old
« on: March 15, 2019, 05:22:52 PM »
Hello! New to the forum so first of all hi. I owned a 2017 XR SE but unfortunately had a rightoff last May. It was a CAT B: so pretty bad and I broke 4 ribs. I've decide to buy another one but am in a bit of a quandary. Do I buy new or used? Is there any difference between 2018 and the new 2019? I do want the black. Hope you guys can advise thanks! H. :002:

Welcome Hywel. Glad to see you are healed up and ready to mount up again.

As far as 18 vs 19, I believe it is just colors. 2020 might be the new model XR, new engine etc.

You will have to sort through new vs used. I can tell you, there are low mile used out there at dealers and private, for some decent bargains.

You can also find new dealer leftovers and demos for some great prices. Let us know what you come up with.

Got a Triple Black new in October 2018. Don't think there's too many upgrades to the 19 plates  but there are plenty of people on here who will know for sure.  There was a nice one posted for sale on here a few weeks ago.  It was in the HP colours and lowered. 12,000. Looked really nice though.
Whatever you choose enjoy it. Cheers.  :821:

there's a 65 plate bike with 6500 miles and loads of extras for under £9k in this Facebook group

I've been very happy with my 2016 bike, bought last summer that had 10,000 miles on it when bought in July.

To be honest as this is your second time around so to speak i’d Tip the world upside down for an X/R with either Akra or Arrow headers assuming the condition of the said bike was good enough there is another step up the ladder to be had with how the bike will run particularly with a map to go with it.
