Has anyone fitted any? I'd like the BMW ones, but according to the dealer, they aren't compatible with the wiring system on the XR. Does anyone know otherwise? Or has anyone fitted any good quality aftermarket ones?

Yes I'd like the BMW LED ones too despite the undoubted high cost! They are listed as an accessory for the R1200RS but not the XR. Asked my dealer but he didn't know of anything in the pipe.  I have a pair on my 2011 GS - £400 to supply & fit back then but they are super bright, robust and nicely integrated into the bike's electrics, switchgear etc. I have seen some examples of non-BMW LED lights being fitted to the XR so may have to go that route. I have engine bars so can mount there. Cheers.

I have been in contact with Clearwater lights and they say the kit for the XR is a couple weeks away. They are expensive but totally worth it. Everything is controlled with the GPS wheel and turn cancel switch when using the "can opener" controller included with the kit. That same controller will also control their rear brake light that is very bright and intelligently controlled. This is a plug and play kit requiring no wire taps or modification to the bike's factory wiring. The instrument panel light sensor automatically dims the user setting of the light intensity when the ambient light is reduced in tunnels and night riding. The full bright is automatically toggled with the high beam activation, flash to pass, horn, and emergency flasher when the features are user enabled. The mounting hardware is first rate and easily installed.

I have this setup on the 14 GSA and it is by far the best LED kit on the market. I'm waiting for this new kit for the XR.

    Update:
I talked to Glenn at the Sacramento Bike Show last Saturday. Clearwater is ready to list the S1000XR light kit possibly this week. I was shown the new  Can-opener specific for the XR and the mounts for our bike. He says an e-mail is going out to announce availability very soon. I will advise once I get the notice.

Thanks for the update gr8ridin.  I think this will be the best solution for adding LED accessory lights on the XR.  Also, Clearwater has the best solution to the CANBUS wiring challenge.  Looking forward to seeing how they will be mounted.
