Battery maintenance
« on: December 05, 2015, 09:26:08 PM »
I'm leaving my XR in the garage for a couple of months, not in a cold climate!
I usually put my other bike on a trickle charger, can I do the same with these gel cell batteries? If so should I leave it connected on the bike.

Have used an Optimate 3 on mine for 2 months, no issue to date but it's being stored for winter so will get regular use weather permitting

I leave mine in the bike and on the trickle charger for most of the winter months when it's sitting.
Generally leave the charger on for one month and then off for the next month alternating through the winter.
Many people ride.....but for a select group of people it's more than a's one of life's great passions.

Optimate 4 switched to CAN bus and plugged into the power outlet.
