pannier - lock change
« on: September 20, 2019, 08:54:10 PM »
Hi All
Having had a slight mishap while moving the SR, I have replaced the off side pannier, but need to transfer the lock, anybody know how to remove it and install in the new pannier? Dennis

you need a decent size paperclip and a torx head screwdriver (forget the size)

If you struggle with that, do as I did before finding this vid. The torx screw he removes, carry on all around the box (about 8 if I remember right) the box will then split into 2 and the lock is easier to get to with the paperclip

My dealer mechanic did one from under the latch somehow, not behind the weather strip. I didn't watch closely enough but they did it free of charge in under a minute... you may find your dealer just as co-operative  if you get stuck.
