Almost time......
« on: October 20, 2019, 08:16:00 PM »
Well tomorrow I’m going to pick my new Sport Se up..... a bit gutted that a new model has been officially announced - I could have waited till next year but I had the opportunity and got a good deal so hoping for some dry weather!

Any tips for the collection and ride home - it’s been 20 years since I had a new bike!

:047: and hope the weather is favorable for your ride home...
On the tip front: take it easy, remember you probably have new tyres fitted that will need scrubbing in...
But most importantly, ENJOY!  :152:

Has a new model been officially announced?

I can't find anything other than conjecture.

If you haven't ridden a modern bike for 20 years, just be aware, this bike will make a 20yo sport bike look slow by comparison....take it easy for a while. It's actually a modern sport bike on stilts....they're seriously angry above 6-7k rpm.

Don’t think it will take a rocket scientist to work out it’ll be some spin off of the overly complicated RR that BM have been unable to tune with any reliability in WSB and BSB and my informants tell me the new Blade will be along similar lines but with wings on as for buying a new model(any) the game changer will be the V4 Multistrada when ever that turns up and with the original V4 motor being 1100cc any inline 4 will be up against it in a serious pissing contest with just a 1000cc.

Hi Bazzer.
Yep no longer conjecturer. I posted the article at the end of last week, it is now official that the new bike will arrive in 2020, it will have the new shift cam engine plus a new frame etc. You can find a related article on Bennetts .uk website......

Great choice and it should be a bit of a shock to see how bikes have improved  over 20yrs.

My main recommendation is to study the handbook and find the page where you can alter the engine modes, especially the one called “Hooligan Mode” as I have never found out how to turn it off , even after 3 yrs !

When I bought my X/R in 2016 I hadn’t had a new bike for 15 years but that didn’t mean I hadn’t been riding a bike  :001:
