I went for MRA vario screen. In its highest position. I'm 5 10. No experience of other bikes with screens, as I've always had naked bikes. MRA is good quality and makes a big difference over standard screen, which I thought was useless at protecting me from the wind.

I just picked up the Puig Touring in the dark tint - would prefer the lighter/smoke tint but it wasn't available. HUGE difference over the Puig small / racing screen - only gotten 1 ride in since I put it on and it was pretty windy, but it made a noticeable difference.
I'm 6'1" with a 31" inseam, so most of my height is from the waist up, and I can easily see over the touring w/s even in the high position; I live in South Florida so it may be a little too much for the summer, but I can trim it down as needed.
I can send pics of the racing and touring together if you want them.

The large Puig is great, but at Autobahn speeds of over 120 mph, the S1000XR becomes unstable with it.
I don't have that behaviour with the Ermax screen (and Puig spoiler) I mounted this summer.
At legal speeds, the Puig is however among the best, together with the MRA.
I am 6'4" with a long torso, have the high HP seat and wear an AGV Sportmodular helmet, so your mileage may vary depending on your gear and size, of course  :305:.

All the best,

Remo

I went for the MRA Vario.  I'm only 5'7" and ride mostly in the low position and its great.  If im just cruising on the highway for a long time i will put it in the top position and it gives me a bit more protection but just the lo position is good enough for me being so short.

I just recently fitted an MRA vario and although it’s better than the stock one, I’m a bit disappointed with it really. Still getting plenty of wind noise in my Neotec II with it in the high setting.

Over the last 25 years i’ve had 4 top line Arai helmets I still have them side by side they look identical in use they are like chalk and cheese, even with the Puig Sport screen which gives me a steady air flow i’ve Gone from an RX7GP to a V and the game has changed again, hence why it’s important when folks are talking about screens they need to mentioned what helmet they are using otherwise the info is useless and even then ones size and height also have an influence.

Looks like the Puig and MRA are favourite but taller than I was looking for as I don't want to look through the screen, anyone tried the Ermax Touring Screen?  Thanks, Peter

I'm wearing a BMW System 7...   Link to screen below

Hi,

I use the Ermax Touring screen, combined with a small Puig spoiler.
In comparison to the Puig Touring screen, you get more wind on the shoulders and on the helmet at the lower setting, but it's clean air, so very manageable.
The XR is also less prone to high speed wobbling with the Ermax. That annoyed me a lot with the large Puig screen.
The high setting of the Ermax offers some more wind protection, but also more turbulence, so I only use that at low b-road speeds in the winter.
I'm 6'4" with a long torso and weigh about 225 pounds. I wear an AGV Sportmodular helmet and most of the time a Revit Dominator jacket and pants
Depending on your own characteristics, ymmv considerably.

Sorry for the dirty screen picture. The roads were rainy and muddy yesterday.

All the best,

Remo

Thanks Remo, very useful!  If you have used both Ermax & Puig could you please comment the eyeline height across the top of the screen (without the vario addition).  Namely is the Puig or Ermax taller to look over when in the same position.  The Puig is longer than the Ermax but also looks about the same height from the mounting holes to the top - if that makes sense.  Thanks again, Peter
