Bar end mirrors on an S1000XR?
« on: January 12, 2020, 03:47:07 PM »
Has anyone tried fitting bar end mirrors to an S1000XR?  Is it possible to fit bar end mirrors and keep the hand guards? I’m thinking of fitting bar end mirrors with Evotech or Cymarc bar ends to counter vibration. Any thoughts?

Short answer is no I haven't but I've done such on another bike and to save making the bike any wider fitted the mirror via the hand guard on my XT SM.

Thanks Dutch, what mirrors are they and we’re they straightforward to fit?  Also, do you think they are an improvement on the stock items?

I have CRG Arrow mirrors(mirrors fitted above) fitted with RhinoMoto Bar end weights(heavy), during the warmer months I do not use the hand guards, but in winter I fit a set on Barkbusters Blizzard 'Muffs', they look like crap, but I have roasty/toasty hands and can get away wearing unlined gloves most of the time.

Yes - they are CRG mirrors (the best - IMO). The advantage of HB end mirrors is the unobstructed view behind. They do take a while to get used to - but if knowing what is behind you is important - it's worth the trouble. With a lathe in my garage - turning a groove the diameter of the handlebar end in the spacer was simple. Any small machine shop should be able to do this.

Clearwater Sevina & Erica with their Billie brake light - all controlled by their Can-Bus system.
The best (IMO).
