What is the best bike cleaner?
« on: February 09, 2020, 04:39:47 PM »
Tried a number of sprayable foam cleaners. Looking for one that really removes all the muck after power washing without the need to use the bucket and sponge.

What are your recommendations?  :305:

For using a power washer on a bike?

I’d recommend public execution   :164:

My own experience is that its all hype, whatever foam cleaner I use I  still need to wash it properly. LOW pressure with electric karcher is the best for my bike followed by micro fibre glove then blow dry with pet dryer

There's no substitute for good old fashioned 'elbow grease'; Whatever you do to initialy get the surface muck off you will still have to get the bucket out to clean it well; and it's not all bad news....You can get hands on with your bike and check it at the same time, maybe see what may need doing mechanically or what may be needed in the near future...i.e Chain, tyres, brake pad wear etcetera.

There is an old saying (British) "A clean car is a well inspected car".
That works with a motorcycle too.
Can't get that with a foam spray . . .

Sadly not bet I haven’t washed a bike in the traditional way in over 10 years damp cloth and lots of the previous mentioned,my 1100s is 22 years old with 40,000 miles on the clock but condition wise could still give my X/R a run for its money though sadly not in the performance stakes.

I've tried (and wasted money on) many, many cleaners.  The best so far I found is  "Rhino Goo".  (I also use it to clean my trail bike, so I know it works well!.)

Buy in 5 litre containers then use a garden sprayer to coat the bike, leave for 5 mins, then agitate with a brush, hose off.  Works for me!
