Nav 5 issues
« on: March 24, 2020, 09:52:36 PM »
Hi all.
Been for a ride on my S1000XR and found that the nav wheel does not work, it does not do anything now. The bike has been in the garage over winter, and the nav in the house. It all worked fine last year, only thing I have done is update the satnav using the Garmin site.
Any ideas what the problem is ?

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather....not screaming like the passengers in his car..!

I did think this but all pins are straight, and I tried refitting the nav but no joy.

Might be worth cleaning the pins and also the contact points on the back of the Nav5. There was a thread on here just recently about it. Might be worth a search.

Cleaned both and sprayed WD40 on both so hopefully that will sort it.
Thanks

Make sure you press the pins on the mount -in and out a few times to lubricate them completely
