Hmm I actually agree that the engine very feels soft compared to the current crop of litre super bikes and I also think the brakes are weird and sometimes give the feeling oh sh#t I am not going to stop (Gen 3 RR brakes are the same) I think its the ABS system rather than the calipers and master cylinder. I have ridden track a RR with the ABS bypassed and it was much better.

That said for the most part as a road bike its brilliant for jotting around on real roads :-)

Haha

One of the things I like about the XR motor is it is certainly fast but its not intimidatingly fast. Its actually reasonably easy to use the power.

I find it an easy bike to go well on the road on. But again due to the long travel on the forks the front feel is again slightly limited.

Nothing else I have tried works for me as a general do it all bike though and I have a few bikes and it gets ridden the most as its just really easy to get on with.

My 2 previous bikes to the XR were a 2009 GSX R and a 2012 Fireblade
Every now and again I do yearn for one of them, but when abroad over the last few years in Spain and Germany with a gaggle including 2 x Fireblades, A 1000RR and a 1299 Ducati, I have never felt left behind, under-powered or out braked. What I have felt is a pain free back, wrists and shoulders  :046:
Oh..and hard panniers are brilliant

I never yearn for a sports bike on the road anymore. I can go as fast on this as I really want/should do :-)

Shes not without her faults, but I have grown to love the old girl :-)

well I did watch it all, you know how to get more traffic to your YouTube channel  do a katie Hopkins!

I'm sure he's going to be a big hit just not on this site.

I'm wandering if he road the bike or just gat all the information from someone else.

Just look at the bike the chicken strips on the back tyre  :016:
After over thirty + years behind the bars, there's still lots to do and see.
