Low option questions
« on: May 22, 2020, 03:14:38 PM »
Hi all,
New to the forum and have posted first in the “new member” part to say hello.

I am about to order a low version of the new 2020 xr (once the lockdown has ended).
Can anyone tell me what kind of real world lowering i can expect please.
I am 5’7” and have  29” leg - will this low suspension/seat combo be ok?

Any replies thankfully received.

My legs just about the same I can get both feet down with the balls of my feet. Not on my tiptoes anymore. I am happy with the low suspension. Low seat is not the most comfortable seat but I am going to give it some more time. Only 500 miles so far.

Can't offer any advice I'm afraid but I'm interested in hearing/reading your posts on the new model. Has your dealer given you a date that you can collect it yet?

Hello,
For whatever is worth I am new to this forum and XR and my bike is the 2018 model factory lowered to 31" my inseam is 30" and I feel much more comfortable on my bike rather than on the dealers bike in the showroom.
I am very happy with the lowered version.

Thank you,

The new 2020 Gen-ll model is a tad lower than the earlier Gen-l models, the lowered 2020 version should suit a lot of "vertically challenged" riders, even moreso than the earlier model.

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather....not screaming like the passengers in his car..!

That's correct, and I also have to add that the seat is narrower on 2020 model. It doesn't splay your legs like on the Gen 1, so that helps too in reaching the ground.
