Noob from Hampshire
« on: June 17, 2020, 05:40:36 AM »
Hello everyone, my name is Neil and I’m a...............

Yesterday I put down a deposit on a new to me XR  :046: It’s a 2019 SE with the multi coloured paint scheme (I don’t know the official name for the colour). I collect it next Wednesday from Cotswold BMW, only 7 sleeps to go.

I am coming from a 2018 Z1000SX, the fast green one. I don’t know how I’m going to manage with the reduction in power  :001:

Probably one or two stupid questions coming up so be gentle with me.

So I hear. They don’t give much away though but they did get me a good p/x for the SX.

Welcome!  :400:
Coming from an 2016 SX myself in January, you wont be disappointed with power. Just wind it up a bit. There's more at the top end.
Not quite so good at the bottom though.
Exhaust note is totally different, but you will get used to it.
Hard to believe for regulars here, but the XR seat is much better, for touring.
Still not convinced about cornering. Bikes seem pretty similar. All depends on getting the right tyres and a setup to suit. More gizmos to wade through here.
Getting out on the track is the only way to tell and that just hasn't been possible yet.
Enjoy.  :305:
