Venture Shield Kit.
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:19:36 PM »
Has anyone fitted a Venture Shield protection kit to their XR yet?
If yes does the kit cover most front end panels or is it quite sparse?
Cheers

I haven't used Ventureshield, but did apply something similar on the panniers, which I bought off Nippy Norman's. I left a review on Nippy's website.

No as on this bike it didn't seem to need it, I used it on the last two and it was great. If you track it down please post as for the tank I would fit again.

I bought this - cheap when you consider what you get for £40 over here - https://thetankslapper.biz/oc/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=648

Yes its fine - I've bought kits from them for a few years. Follow the instructions, use plenty of water (spray) and its fine.

Just finished fitting the Venture shield kit from Invisiblepatterns.co.uk. First time I have fitted one off these kits, really easy as so long as you use plenty of soapy water ( the kit provides a bottle and lubricant, but if you use it all you can just use a few drops of Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo).
Also have a squirts bottle of clean water at the ready, this helps remove the soapy solution from any edges that won't stick.
Just take your time and watch YouTube how to videos

No point posting a pic as you can't really see it once installed

I used chip guard I've it on the last 6 bikes.

Two big tips:
1:  keep your hands wet I put on the blue latex gloves on it helps not leave finger prints on the sheet
2:  get your garage \ workspace as warm as you can it helps the stuff stretch.  it's very stretchy! :169:
Little tip take your time. :152:

After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.
