New 2020 XR owner adding Vario top Box

The dealer says  no can do, BMW says its a no no So what to do the one I had on my 2016 ?I dont use it often but it sure is handy when I do. Any ideas on how to mount one ?

You may have to make a custom mount plate.

I made a few of them in my time from stainless steel. The Vario is the best luggage ever.
Go to a good engineering company with a laser cutter.
Not a great picture and on a GSA but gives you an idea.

I finally got around to cutting off the center lump on the stock luggage grid. My vario box does fit

I used a grinder with a cut off blade. A small belt sander like a 1 or 2" would have worked better. A little putty and some paint and it wont be so hideous.

Just done this mod for my Vario Top Box.
Used a reciprocating saw with Semi Circular blade and got a nice clean cut.
Used a 120 Grit sanding pad to smooth off and it's come up nice and tidy.

I'm not sure if this helps anyone, but this video shows someone fitting a 3rd party top box plate to a 2020 XR.
