Im gonna swing by my shop and grab my temp gun tomorrow to post temps, but I agree with PaulS1000XR, it will be hard to tell how they really work until it gets cold

Been an issue with BMW grips for years. Owned a 2014 K1300S, heated grips were toasty as hell. Then my 2016 K1300S had the bike back on various occasion throughout the winter to test them etc as almost useless. All tests said within the 10% tolerance(albeit on the lowest value permitted). Was informed by the tech that they could increase amp output. However due to dealership rules etc they were not allowed to and did not have the required software to do this.
Won't be long before the temp drops in NE Scotland and let you know how the 2020 XR heated grips perform. :190:

Just wondered if there are any good aftermarket heated grips available for the beloved XR?

Mine are also pretty poor on a 2018. Also, the throttle side is warmer than the left.

I have had five BMW's, including two right now, in the last fifteen years.  The heated grips all worked fine, and all worked the same, on all five bikes.
