Seats are such a personal thing, theirs another thread on this site about how I bought my XR new, never had the stocker and started with the HP version and didn’t get on with that either, and sold it, I sit on a bike not in it, even more so with the XR, what makes things worse…..finding the solution costs.

We were out today and saw a Gen2 parked up Jeeze to me it was like a chopper with its low seat and high bars but it obviously worked for him.

Hence why the seat in the photo turned up it was jus bought on a whim and when we unwrapped it thought ‘Here’s another one’ dropped it on the bike and bingo  :002:,the rearsets where just the iceing on the cake.

With hindsight what would I recommend?? Have a board meet with folk who have various seats and try them on yours, the cost of coffee and cake way cheaper, dread to think how much it cost before I oops sorry we got the right one even allowing for what we recovered selling what we didn’t like.

I have the regular Wunderlich Aktivkomfort seat and am wondering whether the high seat would be better for me. The regular seat is relatively comfortable but I’d like a little more legroom (it seems the M sport pegs lift your feet up slightly so the combination doesn’t work) and as I have the lowered suspension model I think I can manage a taller seat. Does anyone have experience of trying both seats? I’ve seen the other thread with pics from Wunderlich showing both and the high seat seems less of a bucket, but I’m loathed to spend £470 only to find out it’s horrible (yes, I know seats are a personal thing and yes I could return it, but it’s worth asking for opinions first!)

I sent my standard gen 2 seat to elsemade to have modified.
Been using it for a couple of months now and it’s pretty good, got gel and comfort foam in it.
Longest trip I’ve done in a day was 350 miles and arse was happy.
I was using an airhawk pad with standard seat previously, not had to use it at all since mods.

Went for a carbon look cover with M sport logo, so overall I’m v pleased with it👍

    Thank you.
Best bike I’ve ever owned, bought it used with 300 miles on it.

This seat issue really peeves me off, the price we pay for these bikes and they cant be 'arsed' to get the basics right.

I ride with armoured jeans normally and have done on various bikes with no issues. i continued with my 21 plate XR and as everyone else found it really uncomfortable after a small number of hours.

After much searching for answers i read somewhere only a month or 2 ago, that wearing leathers makes a difference which i found hard to believe, but....my god it does, i can ride way much further and suffer no issues after a day in the saddle !!??

    Just saying :027:
