wonder if controlling the grips this way would keep them working. mine go to very minimal heat at 30 mins.

That is interesting - I had mine on all day a week ago, and would have sworn that they turned down after a while.   Must check the manual.

I think it can be plugged into the alarm to pickup the CANbus?

Any canbus port will work (the beauty of canbus), but the alarm one is the most logical, and where i connected mine.

Love the new update, it allows you to program your heated gear settings based off of your heated grips setting.

example
heated grips on 1 equals heated gear at 25%
heated grips on 2 equals heated gear at 50%
heated grips on 3 equals heated gear at 75%

so you can control you factory grips with a ez-can?

No, its using the heated grips 1,2, and 3 settings/controller to control heated gear.
