can I just ignore the lampf sign?

    Hi everyone,

I just installed a set of H7 bulbs purchased from ebay on my 2018 s1000xr, they are cheap ones without resistor. I'm happy with the effect of the new bulbs, but of course this throwed the LAMPF sign on the display. Can I just ignore the error sign and keep using the led bulbs? Are they gonna do any damage to the electrical parts or computer of the bike? Thanks a lot!

Here is the link of the bulbs: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Xenon-White-LED-Bulbs-Headlight-Conversion-Kit-For-BMW-S1000RR-2009-2018-S1000XR/323882252446?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648

    Regards,

    Charlieman

I suspect that just like if you tap in to an existing light supply, the Canbus may after a while - cut the power to that consumer.

It can start off as a 'failure' warning and then go on to chop the voltage.  Not very desirable.  :012:

And...if it stays there you won't get any other warnings or coolant temp indication....so if something important happens, you won't know until it's too late..

The Night Eye LED head lamp bulbs work fine with no errors.....but will need the 70mm bigger rear covers as the fans stick out a bit. Have been using them for several months with no issues.

Have had the Techmax Mini bulbs in for 13000 miles/10 months. Still running strong. No issues with canbus/errors. Like Smithy have used 70mm rubber dome caps.

Can you let me know where did you buy the 70mm covers? Do they fit nicely on the bike? Thanks

I also have used the Techmax bulbs with no issues but went with the hard cover (link below).  PITA to install but seems like a more permanent solution ...
