Bought a new hlemet, to match the color of my XR....
on: November 15, 2020, 04:18:05 AM
I must be crazy, bought the arai xd4 depart helmet ONLY because its color matches my XR....
I've done a few hundred kms, super comfortable, since I always wear arai, so no drama here. A bit noisy, earplugs are required. The peak doesn't really affect the stability, tested at 130km/h. Ventilation is superb. Best thing I find of this helmet, comparing to my old arai quantum-x is the vision, especially with the anti-fog tinted visor. The only downside is the price.
Anyone wearing this helmet with the XR too?

I have just done the same thing.  My 7 year old Shoei Qwest has been in need of replacement for a couple of years.  I had not been able to find anything that fit the same on my head as past Shoei helmets.   My head is very round and all the new Shoei have gone to an intermediate oval shell shape.  My local dealer finally brought in some of the higher end AGV line.  The AGV K6 is the first helmet that I have tried in 2 years that fits me like my old Qwest.  It is almost 1 pound lighter than any other comparable helmet and it is quieter and better ventilation than anything that I have had in the past.  This is the only shot I have to show how the colors match the bike.

It was time to retire the trusty Neotec, so I decided to replace it with a GT-Air II in matching colors, which I just received.

A bit surprise you went from a Quantum-X to XD4. They're made to fit different head shapes. So one of them was the wrong helmet or size?
