Crankshaft End Bolt Cover

Im in the process of doing my 18k service and valve check, does anyone know the torx size of the crankshaft end bolt cover t55/t60 ?

It takes some work to get the cam cover off, even have to drop rad forward to clear it.

I also did a leak down test on mine and found Cyl 1 and 2 had leaking inlet valves, clearances were fine though. Mine has 28K on it.

I have Marks service manual which has saved me a lot of time trying to work things out. I took the cover off yesterday but managed to wiggle it free

Did the bit that holds the air injection rail not get in the way :-)

I was doing lots of other work so have it pretty much in bits at the moment. In fact I am going to drop a 2018 engine in it not (it arrived yesterday)

As you say tipping the rad forward gives you the space also removing the brake line retainer behind the horn

I would be tempted to do a leak down test while you are in there (if you have a compressor)

Do you have much carbon build up on the back of your inlet valves ?

Only just managed to get the cover off before it got dark so will check later. I’ll bear in mind a leak test
