Hi
Can anyone recommend an iPhone holder that will do the following:
1. Stand up to some abuse
2. Relatively inexpensive
3. Quick release, ideally snap on
The last point is critical as I need to mount it in the dark, in a hurry and don’t want to fanny around with screws/tools etc.
Champagne tastes, beer income...

I have used a quad lock for the last 20k on the bike and it works great, I have the mirror mount on the factory GPS cross bar when it’s in GPS mode. I also have the bar mount when I’m using it and need to change songs, I had issues with vibration due to the characteristics of the bike and the next week quad lock stared offering a vibration damper, not tested yet but love the innovation.

I have a Tigra ...its been on my last 3 bikes and not a single problem
https://www.tigrasport.com/14-motorcycle
The bike mount and case are available separate so if you switch phones you can buy another case
they make many but this is the one I have

I'm very particular about my phone; I want it to stay aboard the bike even during a crash. It's one of my two communications links and I want it to be where I put it with a very high probability (my second link is a Garmin InReach which I wear double secured to my Hit-Air Vest).
I used to use Ram's X-Grip with tether; without the tether, I would not trust my phone to this mount; with the tether, it's very secure, but installing the tether is a pain - you have to lift the tether over each corner of the phone to install or uninstall.
I recently moved to Ram's Wireless Charging Quick-Grip (
https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-HOL-UN14WB-V7M);
very secure and tether is easy and fast to use. Occasionally, the wireless charging stops - not sure why; when I remove and reinstall the phone, which takes seconds, it's so easy, wireless charging starts again. The tether is a pull over one tab and done action. You don't have to remove the tether to install or remove the phone, but it does take a good push to do either when the tether is engaged.

Quadlock replacing the GPS carrier.
Their 12v to 5v USB adapter is tucked in the bodywork behind the panel with the Powerlet socket to the left of the TFT in the photo. It is connect to the GPS power (I cut the end off it and attached a GPS tail).

Does no one have problems with there phone over heating and shutting down on really hot sunny days with the back light on full so it can be seen ?
I have had it happen when I just left the phone on the side in the sun when working on the bike.

Yes, It happened when travelling in Italy a couple of summers ago on hot bright days the phone would overheat and need to be switched off, put into the tank bag out of the sun until it cooled. Conversely we also had it power down due to excessive cold when riding in Switzerland in the Alps and getting caught in a snow storm one cold spring day. I use a TomTom now and have never had issues with that!.
