works fine on my R1200RS & XR with Keis.

Some heated gear runs at over 5A, which won't work via the accessory socket as it trips out. Tends to be older gear as modern stuff is very efficient.

I added an Aux port direct to battery, use it for heated gear, tyre pump and charging the battery.
