Not knocking them, but are these needed? The XR has self cancelling indicators and flashes the back light (and puts your hazards on as you come to a stop) if you brake hard anyway? Do they do something else?

It should, all XR's have self cancelling turn signals, factory default setting is 10 seconds or 300meters whichever occurs first, unless you're sitting at traffic lights etc, this can be adjusted at the dealer or using a GS-911....and all those bikes with "ABS Pro" have the flashing brake/hazard lights function..

This straight out of the owners manual, section 6 page 106..:

Hazard braking with ABS Pro OE
If you brake sharply from a speed
in excess of 50 km/h the brake
light flashes rapidly as a warning
for road users behind you.
If you brake until your speed is
less than 15 km/h the hazard
warning lights start to flash as
well. The hazard warning lights
switch off automatically as soon
as you start to accelerate and
vehicle speed reaches 20 km/h.

Thanks Smithy

What is your opinion on the Smart Brake Module feature of the brake light coming on with engine breaking induced deceleration?

Also, might you know what the minimum setting for cancelling is please mate?

It’s really hard to get it to cut in - go out and practice your emergency stop and see if your hazards are flashing when you come to a standstill. Makes you realise just how hard you can brake on these things.

@Warree - I get what you mean now, you just want it to flash in normal (gentle) use. How does the XR brake light work? Is it just a single wire CANbus connection to LEDs? Might make it hard to connect - worth checking if it’s compatible?
