    Hello, Will a top box from a 2016 XR fit straight onto the existing rack on my 2018 HP XR or does it need a plate as well ?. Looking at the rack I can't see how it would fit straight on or does it involve removing the back plastic cover attached to the metal rack?. Thanks.

    '16 -'19 are the essentially same bike so if it's a bmw box yes straight fit, if it's after market (givi/ kappa etc) will need a plate

    Yep, BMW top box fits all 15 - 19 bikes, but does not fit on the 20+ bikes - annoyingly the 20 rack is too thick to allow the old top box to engage, so you have to buy a new one  :305:
