    Gen 2 plastic panel scuffing

The image shows a dealer's demo bike I borrowed and I wondered if any Gen 2 owners have noticed the same scuffs on theirs on the black panel below the tank? Or have any owners been conscious of these and have put anything on them to help avoid the panel being scuffed? Not sure the clear plastic film you can get for painted bits would stick to this, any thoughts?  :187:

May have been caused by rider's knee I suppose. I have a  Hein Gericke Master riding suit and it has kevlar over the knees which is very rough.

Not a mark on my panels, or the tank cover (2,500 miles) and I ride through the winter in heavy cordura trousers.

The only panel I think is likely scuffed is the side panels under the riders seat, possibly from swinging yer leg over . I covered the tops on mine with stick on vinyl .

I used to get a scuff similar to that on my Z1000SX which was caused by my leathers. I used a car detailing spray to remove/cover up the scuff.

I noticed similar minor abrasions on my gen2 in the same sort of area, just further forward as I probably have longer legs.  I made a quick fix by putting a sacrificial run of black duct tape over the affected area to prevent further marking for now.  For bad weather riding I have a rukka armas suit which has the ceramic bead knee protection patches on it, so I usually try to put some protection on my bikes around where the knee would hang about.

I am planning to replace the duct tape fix with some ‘helicopter tape’ , or custom cut techspec grip pads, when I get time to sort it out.
