How to change airfilter 2020 S1000XR?
on: January 01, 2021, 06:06:04 PM
Hi there  :158:,

I maybe going to buy a '20 or '21 S1000XR next summer, but I'm curious which bodyparts you have to remove to change the airfilter. Has to be done every 10000km.
I know on a '15-'19 you only have to remove the front tankpanel, but the '20 looks very different.

Any answers  :028:?

Somewhere on here are the pics i had posted on advrider for removing the central piece of the tank shroud. I didnt try to take any additional panels off though.

Remove the tank panel (4 screws and start gently pulling up from the seat) then remove the rear brake air reservoir, and airfilter should be below it. See picture, this person has removed all panels to install two air horns. The brake reservoir is the cylinder just above the two horns and is clipped in.  Haven't done this, but assume that gives just enough clearance to pull the air filter out.
