Navigator VI battery problems?
on: January 11, 2021, 11:03:59 PM
My Nav VI, when powered off physically with the button on the back, choosing the option to "Turn off the device?" loses it's charge in just a few days. It literally goes from 100% to 0% in 4 or 5 days.

Is this normal (I suspect not)?

The internal battery is probably giving up. You can get a new one online and it's not that hard to replace.

My Nav V looses it charge in about 2 weeks when turned off. Think you have to get the new battery from a BMW dealer an their of course extortionately expensive  :305:

Aren't they just BMW-branded Garmin Zumo? Replacement battery about 20 quid.

Damn, and I only bought the device in August 2020. I think the battery must have been defective from the get go

My Nav V lasts about two weeks when turned off. Been that way since it was new.

The battery is unique to BMW units. (Or is, in the case of the Nav5).

If you aren’t riding in winter, and don’t use the Nav in the car - charge it up, take the back off and unplug the battery.

I find if it's turned off and still in the cradle it loses it's charge in a couple of days, if I remove it from the cradle it stays charged for a couple of weeks at least.
