Yep Im new here
on: January 14, 2021, 12:24:09 AM
Hi All,

Quick hello, Im from Melbourne, and just acquired my new 1000XR (carbon sport) yesterday :)  its a clean slate, so I am looking forward to not only riding it but making some changes to suit my quirks, I have it booked in to wrap the ice grey and black out the whole bike, I am adding a black rad guard today, and in search for other bits n pieces. I will probs settle for a slip on sound maker looks like the akarapovic is the can of choice etc.

Anyhoo, I look forward to sharing info and telling stories of great excitement and wonder with you all

Love TuX (Shane)

Be interesting to see the Grey parts wrapped as such.
I Carbon dipped the lower black panels and came out really well in my opinion. Pics in gallery. Could not justify the Carbon sport.
Welcome to the forum and look forward to the pics once gone to Black.

Yep I hear ya, the carbon sport was not what I was after, would have preferred the tour version however they wanted their carbon sport gone and made me deal that was just to good to pass up and with the savings made I could add on near all of the tour accessories and still be a wee bit in front.

Ill host up some b4 and after pics when the blackout is complete

Just checked out your carbon dipped bits, impressive, the price is even more impressive :)  Wrapping is a risk, I've seen wraps that are mediocre at best but I've also seen wraps that look better than a 15k paint job, the guy wrapping mine is connected to the hot-rodding scene I am into here so its in his best interest to produce good work :) fingers crossed, I guess worst case if it looks cheap n nasty off it comes and back to grey

Yeah, not bad at all.
Back working so be a few weeks before i can post some pics with parts fitted back onto the bike. Garage a bit narrow so not great to get decent pics when i fitted them. Had to order new clips, as soon as you take them off. The spring tension goes and no use trying to reuse, kept falling off. BMW kindly sent me 8 off clips and posted for £14  :084:

Was expecting them to be free, should have known better  :112: :112:
