    Loose Seat

    Hello from South Africa.
I have just acquired a beautiful matt blue 2018 S1000XR with low mileage.
I have an issue with the seat sliding about 10mm back and forth even though it is locked down properly.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so did you find a solution?

Is it the original BMW seat?  My OEM seat does not move, but my Sargent seat slides back and forth a little, as you mention.

nor does the BMW HP seat.

The OP should check that the rubbers are in place and undamaged where the front of the seat mounts.

Thanks Guys, the seat is standard, the front rubbers are good. The seat on a friends XR does not slide, but there is no obvious reason why mine does.

J did try his seat, at first it was fine, but after swopping back and then trying again, it too moved.

I have put some draught exclude rubber about 1cm thick into the cups that locate on the front rubber bushes, and now the seat is stable, but it sits a little further back from the tank.
