Can anyone suggest a decent tankbag for the Gen 2 XR?  Does the BMW Tankbag that fits the Gen 1 also fit the Gen 2 (I doubt it but hope to be wrong!) ?

SW Motech is always the answer when it comes to tang bags. They're in a league of their own.

    Totally agree with Bartender there.
Have 2 SW Motech bags. Amazing value considering the age of them. All you need is a new tank ring, especially if you sell last bike and forget to take it off.

Rain, snow and speed, never have an issue. Well apart from leaving at fuel pump on the odd occasion  :005: :084: :112:

There are some new BMW bags out that look okay (based on a youtube video, have not actually seen them).

Thanks all - will have a look at SW Motech and BMW itself.  Since I posted I've seen some Shad ones that look ok - any thoughts?

I switched from givi to sw-motech a few years ago, mostly for touring. As the Bartender said, the bags seem well made and look sharp. That said, I really liked the sport bag from Wunderlich that snapped onto the Gen 1's, but the Gen 2 version has a lot of clunky mounting hardware that kind of spoils the look.
The shad PIN system looks pretty slick but haven't seen any out there.
I plan to live forever.  So far, so good!

I use the sw-motech as I had that on my previous KTM 1290 GT. The fixing ring from the KTM is the same as the gen1 XR so it was very straight forward to switch it to the XR.

Thanks everyone - been looking at them all; for me it came down to SW-Motech or Shad and have decided to go with the Shad 16 litre version as it seems to be good value and is pretty much the same size as the BMW OEM one I had on my Gen 1. If not many people have seen it fitted I'll post some pics on the forum when I've fitted it.

    Any Pics yet?

I've been looking at the curved SW-Motech one's but not sure how a general curved bag will marry up with the XR Tank?
