    Finally!!!!!

Finally got to test ride an XR ,,,,
Got 3hrs on it , WOW , so smooth and comfortable, biggest surprise was the seat , I thought it might be uncomfortable , but after 3hrs no problem whatsoever,
Anyway now I’m the owner of a new bike , pick it up next week , well second hand actually, but only 155miles on the clock, so nearly new,
Down side was the ride home, my z1000sx now feels like a bag of shite ,
Time to start picking up some accessories,
So if anyone has any advice about top boxes  let me know, don’t want a BMW top box, but not sure what brands fit ,
It’s going to be a long week!!!!!!!

Welcome. Glad you liked the XR. I tried a Z1000SX a while ago and could not get on with it.

I have a 2016 bike. I use Givi Monokey luggage as I already have the boxes. https://www.givi.co.uk/my-motorcycle/bike/bmw/s-1000-xr-20--21 lists what's available for the newer model. Personally I would get the SRA5138 topbox plate and the PLO5138MK rails and then choose whichever size boxes you want. I use a E45 litre topbox and the E21 litre (now E22) side cases.

Good choice. You wont regret it.
I opted for the SRA5138 rack and Givi 47 litre in Carbon finish. Going toorer the BMW side cases eventually. That would have been my next purchase should i not have hit that bloody pot hole. New wheel instead.
Although there are always the Shad kit. Looks good.

Remember and post a pic of new Bike.

I to find the seat comfortable, not plush but good for longer rides. A bit akin to an orthopedic mattress.

I just removed the BMW top box from my 2021 bike and changed to the 47L Givi box, the SRA5138 plate looks really quite good.
retaining the BMW side panniers though.

Pics when you get sorted please.
