    OLD KEY VS NEW KEY

:Hi i am back had my question about the used motorcycle that i bought , and was not sure if it had to come with 2 keys. All said yes it must have 2 keys and later got second one from previous owner . Unlocked everything switched bike on but said EWS! did not want to start . So took it in to local BMW dealer and the guy said no the computer does not see or read that key . But why does it work on all the locks ? And cant one program it to work . Long story i then was told to order a new one , cost a arm and leg and still waiting on it . But i was told if the new key comes it does not need to be coded it will just fit and start , is this true ? Or do i need to take bike in and coding must be done again on new key . I think they are not telling me everything or don't know how it must be done.   THANKS IN ADVANCE .

They are telling the truth as I Understand it. the new key will come 'keyed' and 'coded' for your VIN from the Motherland.
