Special Escort Group

The Special Escort Group (SEG) is not something dodgy   but the Metropolitan Police unit that protects the Royal family and other VIPs. When HM the Queen arrived at Parliament yesterday I realised that the SEG were riding R1200Rs .To make sure I was not hallucinating I checked online and found this on online.NB I thought initially they were S1000XRs until SimonUK corrected my failing vision 

So the SEG are the lucky ones as often the UK Police choose Honda VFR 1200s also known as "the whale" because of its handling!

Hate to tell you, but the 2 bikes in those pictures are R1250RS or R1200 RS (the tell-tale sign are to 2 big protrusions out of each side!)

Yes R1200RS not the 1250 because that has the LED headlight and two LED running lights.

these have been in use by SEG since around 2016 when I bought my R1200RS.

They are very popular with the riders. So much so, that one of the SEG that has recently retired is looking to buy one to use as a touring bike in his retirement. Younger than me, and retired, the bastard!

He's also used an XR on covert operations and is not very complimentary, so double bastard!

Anyone who is a regular on the UKGSer forum will know who I am talking about.
