Is there a way of finding the proximity of a misplaced keyless ignition fob? Maybe in the connect app or some third-party app or hardware? Many thanks

Oh dear, always keep mine in my jacket pocket. Be interested to see if there is.

and the reason why I have had a "dumb" key cut to fit the seat lock on my R1200RS. Electronic fob stays in my jacket

If you push the bike around everywhere, while trying to start it - when you get close enough - Vroom!  :028:

got the link from UKGSer and ordered from https://www.keysinthepost.com/products/

they don't list any modern BMWs but I emailed them a photo of the key and they were able to make one using a JMA blank http://www.jmakeys.co.uk/ - cost £16

any key cutter who stocks JMA blanks should be able to make one - I think it is labelled a Ducati blank in Timpsons in the UK

I keep the JMA dumb key on a ring with my disclock key, Givi Monokey and house key. No electronics to worry about so can be kept in an outside pocket that isn't waterproof. Plus I have cheap spares if they are lost.

What range should the key be within for that to work?

Needs to be within about 1 metre of the fuel tank or bike wont start
