    seat modification - Gen 2

I am looking for someone who modifies seats.

The Gen 2 standard seat, for me, is not a good fit. It pushes me forward into the tank and as the front to back dimensions are short it rubs you up the wrong way.....
I have tried the comfort and sports but they are the same sort of dimensions.
Does anyone or can anyone recommend a good company to do a reshaping at a reasonable price.
    Preferably central or southern Uk.

The pricing seems to be north of 400 UKP - or even more

    many thanks

New seats are expensive. and not always an improvement. :084:

I have had good results with upholsterers who specialize in motorcycle seats.  Find one willing to work with you in adding and cutting the foam.  he should also use minimum staples and let you test ride to check out the comfort and fit, then make more changes as necessary, perhaps a gel pad. :169:

And when you approve, let him add a heated insert.   It may not seem necessary,  but sure is nice. :152: :152:

that's what I did too, cost me a whole €70 or so. Raised the front part of my high seat by 20mm. Had a gelpad on the Gen1 but found it retains the heat when parked in the sun for a very long time, not very nice

My 2019 XR seat was modified by an excellent guy with a shop near me in Rockville, MD, USA, far from your location.  He previously built a custom pan-up two-up seat for my other bike a 2004 Honda Rune cruiser, and completed one for my 2019 XR shortly after I picked it up from the dealer.  His seats are bespoke with multiple fittings for both myself and my wife.  Depending on the materials selected his bespoke seats can run as high as $1,000 USD or more.  As he is not in your area I only offer my experience for members in the U.S. and for comparative cost.

Of all the place I know , Rockville is one.

I used to work for a company there in Research Boulevard.

does any one know somewhere in the UK…alittle closer to my home than the US!

    you could try these...

http://www.cmseats.co.uk/index.html   -- have tried them for a Honda VFR1200 and was brilliant. whole day riding, no pain.

https://elsemade.com/   --  good reviews but the guy is very busy and he is booked till September.
