    Rear Brake Light warning

OK - new 2021 S1000XR.  EVERY ride includes an error message flashing (taking over) the TFT screen saying that there is a rear brake light error.

Took it in for the first service - nothing noticed and nothing done.  But, my 9-11 device still picks up the codes for the error.

Has anyone else encountered the rear brake light error?  The light still works appropriately - both as as turn signal and a brake, but I keep getting the distracting error on the TFT screen.

    Thanks!

Got the bikes yesterday, today went up to Suches and twice the same warning light come up, headed back to ATL and went to the dealer, plug in and they told me that reported the warning 13 times, they take out the whole rear brake light cable, changed a piece and put everything together again, 45 minutes job.

My initial service was done by a BMW master mechanic - working for a non-BMW dealership.  Changing oil is changing oil.

I spoke to the one (1) BMW dealership in Georgia and the service manager indicated that I should bring the bike by to have it tested under their $5,000 a month BMW computer.

Problem is, his shop is booking out until September for repair work.  By then, I might have enough mileage to do other repairs.  My concern is now, not several months from now.

Did you purchase the bike from the dealership that did the maintenance?  Did they do it immediately or did you have to schedule a date?

    Thanks

Yes - the ONLY BMW dealer in the state of Georgia.

Called the service desk - they said that they are taking service reservations for August/September time frame.

I will try taking the bike in directly.  They know me - I generally trade and purchase a new bike every year or couple of years, over the span of 20 years.

Which year and color of bike did you get?  I stopped in Friday to talk to the Service Manager about the issue and I saw one (1) gold XR on the floor.
