So we did a Wales trip this weekend. All good. We stop for a P break and one of the lads noted that one of my footpegs (pillion) is 90% out of its place and just stuck on. The pin had come out, bearing / spring / ratchet bits gone. We checked the other one, its still there, retainer stuff is there but no circlip either. So the pin can just be pushed up without any issue. Did someone forget to put circlips on my bike or is this 'standard'?

Nope...they should have a circlip, spring and ball. Either someone has forgotten to fit the circlips...... or they've been stolen...(which is highly unlikely).

Smithy.
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather....not screaming like the passengers in his car..!

Thanks, will raise it with BMW. I also noted that both my disks are starting to corrode badly despite the bike only being 3 months old and not seeing any winter / salt riding.

i spotted that a circlips was missing on one of my pillion footpegs when mine was new. I popped into the dealers and they fitted one and it has all been good since then.

Those circlips are a poor design and fall off too easily, had the same thing with my 2019 XR and lost the footrest as well. Annoying really

Same thing happened to me this weekend on my 2020 XR. Bike is in for warranty repair tomorrow.
Have had eight BMW’s over the past twenty years and am now appalled at the build quality.

Ive raised my concerns with my dealer. Ive got nasty corrosion on both my disks which shouldnt be there after only 3 months and 600 miles.
