Hello Everybody,
I'm in San Jose, CA.
I brought home a 2021 S1000 XR yesterday. Tough choice between the XR and the GS. I decided I still had some hooligan in me, and I'm getting on the XR for now. Maybe I'll get a GS when I grow up.
Coming off two K1600s. First a 2014 GTL, then a 2018 GT, which is now for sale. It's one bike at a time for me. Unfortunate, I'm gonna miss the big girl. Needed something to get the juices flowing.

Hi ya RedCard, so you bought the XR - I remember your post on the K1600 Forum, seem to remember you didn't like the seat on the Gen2?
I am lucky that I have kept my K16GT and use that two up and my Gen1 XR just for fun - I am sure you will enjoy yours

I still don't like the seat. I went on a second test ride and started to get accustomed to it. First two things on order are an Airhawk seat pad and an MRA X-crene.

Welcome, RedCard.
I replaced my K1300GT with a 2021 S1000XR; mostly because I wanted the same power, but less weight, in my case, I shed ~140 lbs. In your case, you've shed ~270 lbs; I can't imagine how (un!)massively different that must feel.
I was able to make my XR seat comfortable. First, I bought the BMW Comfort Seat, but I wanted more. My local seat customizer simply removed the comfort seat's cover, added 3/4" of memory foam, reinstalled the OEM cover, and said to come back if that wasn't enough. At this point, I've got 11,312 miles on my XR; ~3000 of those were with the memory foam upgraded comfort seat. Before that upgrade, I used an Air Hawk; now the Air Hawk stays on my RR.

Just saw the MRA X-crene part of your comment. I've got the MRA Vario-X-Creen and love it. Pic...

I believe I've seen your thread/post on your seat. I'm thinking the same although I'm starting with the low seat. Hopefully the airhawk will get me by for now. Thanks!
I bought the XR for much the same reason as you. Wow, how the twisties have straightened out. I needed a renewed passion for two wheels and this has really done it.
