Hi all , finally decided to get a different bike after 20 odd years of riding a vfr800.
What a machine the s1000xr is.
Thought I had done something wrong when the white light started to flash.
Read the manual and used the quick shifter and the gear shift light  ,  wow it does move

If there was a prize for the person who had travelled the most miles alongside a VFR reckon i’d Win it by a mile my mate had 4 he was addicted to e’m  :001:, it is strange comparing bikes I have a much modded 955 Tiger that I bought new in 2001 that hardly ever see’s the light of day now, wheeled it out today blew the tyres up and taxed it....and it was whistling along at 3 figures this afternoon and you sometime wonder how much progress has been made...only ever done one 1000 mile day which was on the Tiger be interesting trying on the X/R  :002:, enjoy the new bike.

Had a bar end and a headlight cover fall off on my way back home from Cheltenham to north wales , tell me this isn't a thing with this bike.

If it’s a new bike yes...if it’s secondhand..the previous owner wasn’t bothered about putting the stock bar end weights back on after he took the after market ones(heavier) off  :002:
