Verging on too hot for riding.

Well Christ on a bike it’s hot. It’s almost too hot for riding, hardly a cooling effect from moving through the air, a couple of degrees more and it would be like being blasted by a massive hair dryer. Went to visit family down south today, which I usually do via the back roads to make the journey enjoyable. On the way back got to Banbury and thought screw this, I am going on the motorway to get some consistent, high speed airflow.  :001:
Never done that before, almost like riding in Spain.

We go to a bike meet of a Wednesday morning, even went on the X/R which has been under a dust sheet for a couple weeks, got there for 9am and was gone by 10.30 way to warm in full bike kit, we’ve done plenty of tripping around Europe in hot weather, but the last few days has been unpleasant to say the least.

Tell me about it! On sunday I decided to take out my touring jacket, i was sweating gallons, literally! At least the roads I hit up there were barely any cars, it's not particularly enjoyable riding in weather like this without occasional cloud cover, 20-25 is right about ideal, 30 is doable but uncomfortable, above that i'm sacrificing gear and protection to go out for a ride therefore I can't have as much fun riding. Times like this I really like to abuse my awful sleep schedule and go for 1 AM rides or very early morning rides around 4-5 AM

Air jacket and bike jeans, but I have been limiting myself to evening rides of late - nicer temperatures, quieter roads, and - - -  - - -  it keeps me off the beer for longer  :028:

Only caveat to that - is Friday afternoons, when all the Dingbro vans are on a mission to get home.   Okay if you follow one at a safe distance, but in all other instances - a menace!

I got a link from Sportsbikeshop for summer Dainese jacket at over £300 (special deal).

Not my idea of 'special'  :187:

that's the all singing and dancing "all season jacket" with removable waterproof outer layer

they have Dainese Mesh jackets from £174 and you can put a breathable Richa over jacket on if it rains, costs about £40

if anyone has a £300 budget then the Rukka Forsair is the one to get.

I wore a mesh jacket and jeans today, and still in a full mesh jacket it was almost too much.
