    Hello from Boulder, Colorado

I collected my 2021 'XR' last week.  I have about 300 miles accumulation so far.  It is my first go with an inline-4.  The motorbike has the Premium & Select Packages + forged wheels + centerstand.  I've added Hepco-Becker 30 liter panniers + Wunderlich proprietary XR tank bag.  I'm thoroughly enjoying the bike.  Each time out I become more comfortable and with increased miles the bike is becoming more 'broken-in.'   My few complaints:  The 2,000 rpm idle at startup.  I hate it.  When using the 'quick-shifter' coming down through the box the shifts are stiff - requiring more force than seems reasonable.  I think this will probably go-away with more miles.  The TFT screen is not particularly bright during daylight.  The brightness adjustment in the menu seems to brighten the screen for nigh-time riding only.  It's irritating that there is no fuel gauge. on the main screen.  If there is I don't know how to access it. The power feels as expected, er thrilling.  The handling and brakes feel better than expected.

Hello Boulder, I am in Niwot.  My XR is a Gen 1, no TFT, but I also have an R1250RS with the TFT, I can show you a lot about it.

To get gas gauge in the main screen:  press the "Menu" up arrow on the left cluster, repeatedly, to scroll through one item at a time to display on the top center of the TFT.  One will be the gas gauge, another is miles too empty.

    Hello Runnerhiker -

Niwot!  We definitely are neighbors.  We live off of Lee Hill & 5th Street. I'm guessing you are a runner & hiker - besides a motorcyclists.  I found a Youtube video that explains the functions of the TFT.  My 'XR' is still new & challenging.  That said I'm thoroughly enjoying it; no regrets.

You can PM me at tryengel@gmail.com with your contact info if you would welcome company on a ride.

    Regards,
    Allan
