Wow - never saw that coming.

Scott Reading will race for BMW next year - on a bike that almost has an XR engine it  :038:

Blimey  :156: I dread to think how much they have had to pay him, just what Tom didn't want to hear on his birthday so that's him either job hunting or retiring.

If it did have an XR engine it would be the laughing stock of any race.

"Redding will partner Dutch rider Michael Van Der Mark, while the German outfit remains in talks with Tom Sykes regarding a contract extension - meaning three factory BMW’s could line-up on the grid next season. "

I don't wish to be rude but I wouldn't be looking to hold onto Tom. He's become an "also ran" I am afraid.  Scott and Michael will be the better choice for sure.

Surprised Ducati and Scott have parted company though.

I bet we will find out more over the next few weeks - probably Ducati looking at hiring other riders again, they aren't very good at rider management  :110:

Well James Toseland hasn’t held back in commentary is WSB  today. Going on about Ducati’s bad record with riders, BMW will ruin Scott’s chances of ever winning a championship as it’s a second rate bike and how terrible the Honda HRC effort has been to date. Kinda agree with what he said but to hear it from someone commentating when they are normally all so neutral, just made me smile 😊

Funny you should mention the Toseland comm...I thought it was great instead of the same old bland tosh you get, he was talking like a punter but with the knowledge of a racer.

If we ever meet i’ll Go into my connections more by fate and close friends but sure as hell isn’t for these pages, difficult to judge Tom(Sykes) because that BM isn’t great and his team mate gets paid a lot more money and still can’t do anything with it, see Haslam is going back to BSB next year and Bautista will probably go to Ducati so Honda have no one, so i’d Put Tom down for one spot, besides with the expensive divorce he had could do with another couple seasons  :002:
